About Lausanne
Lausanne needs 2 days: the Olympic Museum -seat of the International Olympic Committee, with over 150 years of Games history in a building overlooking Lake Geneva- on one, the medieval old town by the Gothic cathedral on the other. April-September has the best weather for the lake. It's somewhat cheaper than Geneva or Zurich. It's been the world's official «Olympic Capital» since 1994, home to most international sports federations, and its urban funicular, Europe's steepest metro, connects the lake to the upper town in minutes.
