About Edinburgh
Edinburgh needs 2 days: Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile on one, and the Georgian New Town district on the other. May-September brings the best weather, though August brings the Fringe Festival, the world's largest performing arts festival. It's cheaper than London. Its medieval old town and planned Georgian new town, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the same city, represent two completely different urban planning eras coexisting side by side, uncommon in a single capital.
