Isle of Mull

The Isle of Mull needs 2 days: Tobermory, the island's main town, with its row of colorfully painted houses facing the harbor, on one, and a boat trip to Iona, the small neighboring island where Christianity arrived in Scotland in 563 AD, on the other. May-September is best. It's mid-to-high priced, with the ferry from Oban as the main access. It's one of Scotland's best islands for spotting golden eagles, otters and orcas, and Tobermory inspired the fictional town in the children's show «Balamory».
