About Halifax
Halifax needs 2 days: the Halifax Citadel, a star-shaped fortress on the hill overlooking the city, on one, and the waterfront with the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, with its exhibit on the Titanic -whose victims were buried in the city- on the other. June-September is best. It's mid-priced for Canada. Its natural harbor, one of the largest and deepest in the world, made it a key naval base since the 18th century, and its role in rescuing and burying Titanic victims in 1912 left a permanent mark on the city's identity, documented in several museums and cemeteries open to the public.
