Aeropuerto Abraham Lincoln Capital (SPI) Estación de Springfield (Amtrak)

Springfield needs 1 day: touring the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, with full-scale replicas of the White House and the log cabin where the president grew up, and visiting his tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery, the same afternoon. April-June and September-October bring the mildest weather. It's inexpensive for a state capital. Abraham Lincoln lived here for 24 years before being elected president, working as a lawyer and state legislator, and the city preserves his original home -the only one he ever owned-, now a national historic site run by the Park Service.
