Indianapolis needs 1 day: touring the Indiana State Museum, with exhibits on the state's science, art and history and the state's largest IMAX screen, and visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Indianapolis 500 race since 1911, the same afternoon. April-June and September-October bring the mildest weather. It's inexpensive for a state capital. Its speedway is the largest in the world by spectator capacity -over 250,000 permanent seats-, and the Indianapolis 500, run every May since 1911, is one of the three most prestigious races in motorsport alongside the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
