About Annapolis
Annapolis needs 1 day: touring the US Naval Academy, with its green-domed chapel and the crypt of John Paul Jones, founder of the American Navy, and strolling through the colonial historic center by the Chesapeake Bay, with more 18th-century buildings than any other city in the country, the same afternoon. April-June and September-October bring the mildest weather. It's mid-to-upper priced for Maryland. It's been the state capital since 1694 and was briefly the US capital between 1783 and 1784, and its naval academy has trained Navy and Marine Corps officers since 1845.
