About Reno
Reno needs 1 day: taking a photo under the Reno Arch, the historic 1926 sign declaring the city 'The Biggest Little City in the World,' and touring its downtown casinos before heading up to the nearby Sierra Nevada on the way to Lake Tahoe, less than an hour away, the same afternoon. June-September brings the mildest weather, avoiding mountain snow. It's cheaper than Las Vegas for lodging and gambling. It was the world capital of quickie divorces between the 1930s and 60s -just 6 weeks of residency was enough to get one, far less than in other states-, and today it serves as the common gateway to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.
