About Santa Fe
Santa Fe needs 2 days: the historic Plaza and the Palace of the Governors, the oldest continuously used public building in the US, on one, Canyon Road, with over 100 art galleries in a few blocks, on the other. May-October is best, with dry, mild weather. It's mid-to-high priced for the American Southwest. Founded in 1610, it's the country's oldest state capital, and its zoning ordinance -in effect since the 1950s- requires all new construction to imitate traditional Pueblo adobe style, giving it a unified architectural identity unique among US cities.
