Philadelphia needs 2 days: the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall -where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed- on one, the Philadelphia Museum of Art (with the «Rocky» steps) on the other. April-June and September-October are the mildest months. It's cheaper than New York, just 1.5 hours away by train. It's the birthplace of American independence: the country's two founding documents were signed here, and its historic district holds more Revolutionary War sites than any other US city.
