About Williamsburg
Williamsburg needs 2 days: touring Colonial Williamsburg, the largest living history museum of colonial America, with period-costumed actors recreating 18th-century life, on one, and riding the European-themed Busch Gardens roller coasters, on the other. April-June and September-October bring the mildest weather. It's mid-to-upper priced given its family tourism profile. It was the capital of the Virginia colony between 1699 and 1780, and its restoration -funded by John D. Rockefeller Jr. since the 1920s- rebuilt over 300 colonial buildings, either original or historically accurate reproductions.
