Litchfield is a refuge of waterfalls and natural swimming holes, more accessible and less crowded than Kakadu since it's much closer to Darwin. Its magnetic termite mounds, up to 2 meters tall and all aligned north-south to regulate their internal temperature, are one of the Northern Territory's most curious natural phenomena.
