Twelve Apostles (Great Ocean Road)
Melbourne · Victoria · Australia
The Twelve Apostles is a popular spot located on the coast of Port Campbell National Park, along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. These limestone stacks rise from the water very close to one another, meaning you can sail up to each of them. Wondering how they formed? Extreme weather conditions rolled in from the Southern Ocean and, over time, eroded the soft limestone. This helped form various caves in the cliffs, which turned into arches that eventually collapsed, leaving this stunning stack of rocks that reaches up to 50 metres high. Seeing the Twelve Apostles is seeing a true piece of Australian history!
