About Auckland
Auckland needs 2 days: the Sky Tower and downtown on one, and the volcanoes of Devonport or a trip to Waiheke Island (vineyards) on the other. December-February (southern hemisphere summer) brings the best weather. It's expensive, among New Zealand's priciest cities. It's nicknamed the «City of Sails» for having more boats per capita than any other city in the world, built on an active volcanic field with over 50 volcanic cones within its urban limits.
