Villa Carlos Paz needs 2 days: the Reloj Cucú, a giant replica of a Swiss cuckoo clock that's the town's most photographed postcard, and the San Roque lake promenade, with water sports on offer, on the same visit. December-March is high season, with the town's population multiplying due to domestic tourism. It's mid-priced by Córdoba standards. It's the classic gateway to the Sierras de Córdoba from the rest of the country, with a summer theater and variety-show scene comparable to Mar del Plata's.
