About San Ignacio
San Ignacio can be seen in a day, almost entirely dedicated to the Ruins of San Ignacio Miní, one of the best-preserved Jesuit Guaraní missions in South America. April-September avoids the humid subtropical summer heat of Misiones. It's among the province's most affordable destinations, thought of more as a stop on the way to Iguazú than a final destination. Its ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, are the best example of the Baroque-Guaraní architecture that flourished in the region between the 17th and 18th centuries, before the expulsion of the Jesuits.
