How to get there
Aeropuerto de Jujuy (JUJ)

Iruya needs 2 days: the access itself, crossing the Abra del Cóndor pass at 4,000 meters on a winding dirt road, is already part of the experience, followed by the cobblestone village built on a hillside. April-October is best, avoiding road closures from summer rains. It's cheap, with no ATMs or reliable cell signal, making it one of Salta's most isolated destinations. Its adobe houses climb such a steep slope that most of the village's streets are staircases, and the local community keeps Andean traditions alive with little outside influence.
