About Jericoacoara
Jericoacoara needs 3 days: touring its unpaved sand streets and the Duna do Pôr do Sol, a daily meeting point to watch the sunset, on one, kitesurfing or windsurfing at Praia da Malhada on another, and an excursion to Lagoa do Paraíso or Lagoa Azul on the third. July-January brings the most consistent winds for sailing sports. It's expensive by northeastern Brazilian standards, reflecting its international fame. It was an isolated fishing village until the 1980s, with no paved access, and today it's one of the world's most recognized kitesurfing destinations, with The New York Times once naming it one of the 10 most beautiful beaches on the planet.
