The last resort town on the south coast before the Juréia-Itatins reserve, one of the best-preserved areas of Atlantic Forest in the state. Beyond the town beach there are near-pristine coves, waterfalls and the ruins of a Jesuit mission. For travellers after nature rather than city life, two and a half hours from São Paulo.
