About Chivay
Chivay needs 2 days: the town and its hot springs on one, and the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint over the Colca Canyon (one of the deepest in the world) at dawn on the other, when Andean condors ride the thermal currents to fly. April-November is the recommended dry season. It's cheaper than the Cusco circuit, with less luxury tourism infrastructure. Its Colca Canyon, more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, is home to the most accessible Andean condor population in South America.
