Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve

Dzanga-Sangha protects pristine Congo Basin rainforest and is one of the few places in the world where you can see western lowland gorillas habituated to human presence, on foot and up close — a different experience from Rwanda/Uganda's mountain gorillas, in dense jungle rather than high-altitude bamboo forest. The Dzanga Bai clearing, an open salt marsh in the middle of the forest, gathers dozens of forest elephants at once, a spectacle seen nowhere else in Central Africa.
