Loango is known as 'Africa's Last Eden': the only place in the world where hippos go into the sea to surf waves, forest elephants walk along untouched beaches, and buffalo graze right next to the Atlantic Ocean — all in the same park where gorillas and mandrills can also be seen in the rainforest. It's expensive and logistically complex to visit (only by charter plane or boat from Port-Gentil), but it's a combination of jungle, savanna and beach that exists in no other African park.
